Jackson Safety Acquires Chinese Manufacturer
|
ST. LOUIS, MO, April 25, 2008 – Jackson Products, Inc., a privately held manufacturer and distributor of personal and traffic safety products, announced today that it has entered into an agreement to acquire a 70% stake in Changzhou Shine Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (“Shine”), of the People's Republic of China for an undisclosed amount. Based in Shanghai, Shine is a manufacturer of welding safety products.
Tom Burns, President and CEO said, “This acquisition supports our global strategy of being the preferred supplier of safety products. Shine’s innovative products, broadens our welding product offering and strengthens our position as the number one manufacturer of auto-darkening filters. The acquisition of Shine will also provide us a manufacturing base in Asia and adds Shine’s excellent engineering talent that will complement our own expertise in auto-darkening technology.”
The transaction is expected to close sometime in the third quarter of this year.

Jackson Safety Acquires Safemaster OY

ST. LOUIS (December 6, 2007) - Jackson Safety announced today it has acquired the assets of Safemaster OY, a leading designer and manufacturer of welding helmets in the Nordic Region.
Located in Tampere, Finland, Safemaster has developed a robust range of welding products, including lightweight helmets for grinding and welding as well as helmet systems uniquely designed for Powered Air Purifying Respiratory (PAPR) products.

LOUIS, MO, (Friday, October 12, 2007) – Privately held Jackson Safety announced today that it has acquired the assets of Wilson Industries, a leading manufacturer of welding curtains and blankets. Based in Pomona, CA, Wilson originated the concept of transparent welding curtains and other products which protect welders from optical radiation, while creating safe visibility within the welding workspace.

Jackson Safety Introduces New Reflective Roll-Up Sign – The Marathon

Jackson Safety Appoints Thomas Burns As Chief Executive Officer

ST. LOUIS (May 22, 2007) – Jackson Safety announced the appointment of Thomas Burns as its Chief Executive Officer. Burns most recently served as President of Burnes Group, a Texas-based manufacturer and marketer of consumer products, and was formerly the President of Katy Industries’ Commercial Products Group, a manufacturer and distributor of commercial cleaning and service products. Prior to that, Burns held various positions of increasing responsibility during an eight year career with Newell Rubbermaid.
